Andreas Meyer guides universities and health systems through their most complex and politically sensitive challenges, offering counsel that blends legal precision with pragmatic judgment and strategic vision. He has led large teams in designing and executing institutional responses to high-stakes matters, including government investigations, compliance reviews, internal investigations, and media and stakeholder posture during reputational crises. His work spans civil rights law, campus speech and academic freedom, immigration and foreign influence, violence prevention, student mental health and duty of care, privacy, and mandatory reporting—covering the full range of legal issues facing tax-exempt educational and healthcare institutions.

Beyond his practice, Andreas has held significant governance roles, including appointment by the Governor of California to the Board of Directors of the OC Fair & Event Center (where he was elected Vice Chair) and two terms as Board President of Equality California, guiding the organization through governance reform and renewed institutional effectiveness.

A first-generation college student and dual citizen of the United States and Germany, Andreas earned a B.A. in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 2006. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2009, where he attended as a Clarence Darrow Scholar and served as a member of the Law Review. After law school, he was an associate at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.

Andreas is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, the American Health Law Association, and the State Bar of California. ​​He lives in Kansas with his husband Loren and their three dogs. He enjoys cooking, Sunday naps, and exploring America.
